Good Shepherd Sunday - An annual world day of prayer for vocations
The vocations teams of the East district parishes, together with the Serra Club of Singapore organised a day of prayer for more vocations to the priesthood and for our priests.
It was an afternoon of soulful prayer with the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament at the Church of the Holy Family.
The Ensemble, together with the St. Anne and St Pius choir of OLPS performed hymns and taize chants in the one hour prayer segment entitled ‘Prayers for Seminarians’, contributing to the prayerful ambience.
Musicians (L-R): Richard (Flute), Joanna, Abigail & Samantha (Violins)
Not in picture: Aaron (Cello), Raphael (Piano)
It was certainly a good experience and exposure for the Ensemble, especially since it was our first event outside our parish of OLPS. We also had a cellist performing with us for the first time – adding texture and richness to the music.
"His Grace, our beloved Archbishop has asked Sean & I to convey his thanks to all of you for a job well done for yesterday's Day of Prayer for Vocations." - Lucy from Serra Club of Singapore
Knowing that our music made a difference to the worship experience at the event has been very encouraging and we earnestly hope to continue our mission of serving God and His people with our ‘talents’.
“Overall it was very good. Really enjoyed the whole playing & praying” - Joanna Ng, Violinist
